EDWATEC develops erbium-doped photonic integrated circuits using low-loss silicon nitride waveguides and controlled ion implantation. This enables efficient on-chip optical amplification with high gain, low noise, and minimal loss. By embedding rare-earth ions directly into the waveguide core, EDWATEC achieves stable population inversion and strong pump-signal conversion. The compact spiral architecture and monolithic integration with silicon photonics allow precise doping control and scalable wafer-level fabricationdelivering a key building block for high-performance optical amplification in integrated photonics.
