Lepto is a deep-tech spin-off from Empa, developing ultrathin, energy-efficient, and ultra-light terahertz (THz) photonic devices. Our technology enables the next generation of space and telecommunications systems, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications. We design and manufacture THz optical components such as filters, polarizers, and gratings, with a growing pipeline of advanced devices tailored for satellite–Earth communications, Earth observation instruments, and 6G networks. Beyond our hardware solutions, we also provide consulting in advanced photonics and terahertz technologies, supporting partners in the aerospace, telecom, and research sectors. At Lepto, our mission is to make THz radiation accessible, scalable, and impactful, accelerating innovation in secure communications, space exploration, and beyond.
