Terms of Use

These Terms govern accounts and submissions on startupvalleys.com(“the Service”), operated by Artur Kochanov, Letzigraben 189, 8047 Zürich, Switzerland. Registration requires active acceptance of the current version. Browsing public information is free.

1. Worldwide Scope

Startup Valleys is a directory of Swiss startups and their open jobs. Companies, incubators, jobs, and events are published according to the Service’s scope and review criteria. People in any country can access the directory. A listing does not guarantee reach, applications or employment, or imply endorsement of a company.

2. Free to Browse

Startup Valleys is free to browse. Some features — notably promoted job posts beyond a free allowance and featured event tiers — are paid. Prices are shown at checkout and processed via Stripe.

3. Content Accuracy & No Warranty

All content is provided “as is” without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We curate and moderate listings carefully but cannot guarantee that every company, incubator, event, or job is up-to-date or correct. Always verify information with the source. Mandatory statutory warranty rights and the liability exceptions in section 11 remain unaffected.

4. User Accounts

When you create an account you:

• Must be at least 16 and actively accept the current Terms, including when registering through Google or another sign-in provider
• Must provide a working email address
• Are responsible for keeping your password confidential
• Must be authorised to act when representing a company
• Accept that we may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms

We record the accepted Terms version, time and registration method. Acknowledging the Privacy Policy is not blanket consent to marketing or additional data processing.

5. User Submissions and Social Content

When you submit content (including company profiles, posts, comments, photos, or videos) you:

• Confirm that the information is accurate and up-to-date
• Have the necessary rights to the content and any names, logos, images or personal data it contains; public availability alone does not grant unrestricted reuse rights
• Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store and display the content on the Service
• Accept factual editorial corrections, categorisation and proportionate moderation under these Terms

Owners of published company profiles may post for their company. Signed-in users may follow companies, like posts, and comment. Company profiles, posts, uploaded media, and comments are public; posts from followed companies also appear in a personal feed. A company ownership request is reviewed by an administrator. A matching account email or email domain is a review signal, not automatic approval.

5.1 Presenting your company on LinkedIn

When you create a company profile or submit one for publication as an authorised representative, or when your ownership request for an existing company profile is approved, you permit Startup Valleys to present the company in a post on the Startup Valleys LinkedIn page, to name it and to tag its LinkedIn company page. For this we may use the published company name, the logo shown on the profile, a factual short description, a preview picture made from the public profile (such as a map showing its location) and a link to the profile. Your content rights remain yours.

The post serves solely to present the company on Startup Valleys. This permission does not cover tagging personal profiles, publishing private contact data or paid advertisements; those require separate authority. There is no entitlement to a post or particular reach. We do not retroactively presume this permission for existing accounts or for companies collected solely from public sources that nobody has taken over.

You may object to a post at any time, including before it is published, at [email protected]; your company profile may remain on the platform. On a justified request we remove or amend our own existing posts where technically and legally possible. Copies, reposts and processing by LinkedIn or third parties are outside our full control.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

• Submit false, misleading, or spam content
• Attempt to scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data outside our public API’s intended use
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the admin dashboard or any private data
• Use the Service for any illegal or harmful purpose
• Submit content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Harass or impersonate others, or publish another person’s private information without permission

7. Paid Posts & Refunds

Price, scope, duration and applicable taxes are shown before ordering; the expressly agreed order details apply. Automatic renewal applies only if expressly agreed in the offer. If a paid service is not delivered for a reason attributable to us, we refund the undelivered portion. Mandatory withdrawal, warranty and refund rights remain unaffected; a short reporting deadline does not forfeit such rights.

8. Right to Remove Content

We may review, correct, reject or remove inaccurate, unlawful or non-compliant content and proportionately restrict accounts. Where practicable, we explain the reason and allow clarification. Security risks or legal obligations may require immediate action. If a paid service ends for a reason attributable to us, its undelivered portion is refunded. Removal due to a submitter’s breach is assessed under applicable law.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service contains links to third-party websites (company pages, job postings, LinkedIn profiles, Lu.ma, Eventbrite, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites.

10. Intellectual Property

Names, trademarks, logos and third-party content belong to their respective rights holders. Display for identification does not grant a general right to reuse them. Rights to Startup Valleys’ own content remain with the operator unless separately licensed.

11. Limitation of Liability

Maintenance, incidents and external dependencies may affect availability. Liability for ordinary negligence is limited to the extent permitted by law. No limitation applies to intentional misconduct or gross negligence, harm to life, body or health, or other mandatory statutory claims. Verify jobs, dates and conditions with their original source.

12. Changes to These Terms

The dated version applies to new registrations and agreements from publication. We give advance notice of material changes affecting existing contracts and obtain any required acceptance. Continued use alone is not blanket acceptance of new advertising or content rights.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction: Zurich, Switzerland. Mandatory protections and statutory places of jurisdiction, particularly those for consumers, remain unaffected.
