Alligator AG develops the patented Planar Feed-Through – a safe high-voltage coupling that enables continuous energy transfer between electric tractor and trailer. This technology makes the B-Trailer concept, defined in the EU Horizon ZEFES project, technically feasible. Heavy-duty trucks cause over 30% of road transport CO2 emissions. According to PwC, more than 200,000 new electric trucks will be registered annually in the EU from 2040. By integrating trailers into the truck’s energy network, range limitations are solved, braking energy can be recovered, and energy costs drop by up to 90% through low-power charging and solar energy use.
