Cellerys was founded in 2015 as a spin-out from the University of Zurich, where it conducted a successful phase I clinical trial with the support of Wyss Zurich, a joint accelerator of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich. The phase I trial showed excellent tolerability and safety and indicated the induction of several tolerance mechanisms. In 2021 Cellerys and Novartis entered a partnership under which Novartis agreed to support the development of RED4MS with a multi-center Phase II clinical trial. The objective of the Phase II trial is to demonstrate proof of concept in this innovative tolerance induction therapy.
