upwater helps wastewater treatment plants better understand and optimize their biological treatment processes. By combining off-gas measurement, DNA analysis, and practical engineering expertise, we provide the data and insights needed to improve plant performance, reduce emissions, and operate more efficiently. As an Eawag spin-off, we bridge the gap between research and day-to-day plant operation. Our work helps operators gain a clearer picture of what is happening in their systems—from greenhouse gas emissions and oxygen transfer to the microbial communities driving treatment performance. We support our customers from measurement and analysis through to implementation, helping them achieve more stable operation, lower energy consumption, optimized chemical use, and long-term process improvements.
